Before every tour I always ask myself the same question : How can I condense thousands of years of history into just 3 hours? As a true history enthusiast and passionate storyteller, with a background in archaeology and museology, I strive to bring Ancient Greek culture and history to life for you. On this private tour, we’ll explore the Acropolis Rock—the iconic symbol of ancient Greece—and visit one of Europe’s finest museums, the Acropolis Museum. This modern architectural masterpiece in the heart of Athens houses an exceptional collection of ancient Greek statues, vases, and marble panels. By the end of this immersive half-day experience, you’ll have a deeper understanding of the city’s rich history, culture, and way of life.
The tour will begin with a visit to the Acropolis Sacred Rock, starting at the South Slope, where we’ll explore the majestic Theater of Dionysus—the birthplace of ancient Greek tragedy and comedy. Next, we’ll visit the Temple of Asclepius, dedicated to the god of healing. As we make our way up, we’ll pass the impressive Roman Music Hall before following the path to the striking Temple of Athena Nike and the Propylaea, the grand entrance to the Acropolis.
At the summit, we’ll have the rare opportunity to admire the Parthenon, the city’s most revered temple, alongside the Erechtheion, a true masterpiece of ancient Greek architecture.
A short but really pleasant walk in Dionisiou Areopagitou street with the stunning mansions and the breath taking views to the Acropolis on our way to the museum.
Our journey continues at the magnificent Acropolis Museum, a modern architectural gem and a cultural highlight of Athens. Here, we’ll explore extraordinary examples of ancient Greek sculpture before reaching the museum’s crowning jewel—the Parthenon Gallery on the third floor.
